5 Simple Keys to becoming a better singer:

  1. Posture
    1. Stand with feet hip distance apart
    1. Elongate the spine
    1. Chest out with shoulders relaxed down
    1. Slightly tuck your tail bone inward
  2. Breath Control
    • Breath deep into the belly, allowing the abdomen to expand outward “belly breath”
    • On the exhale gently push the stomach inward while keeping the rib cage opened (you are learning to develop the intercostal muscles so your rib cage can stay opened on the exhale, which allows for more air capacity in the lungs)
    • Be sure to maintain good posture
    • Practice posture and this breath work for 2 – 5 minutes
  3. Confidence
    • “Fake it until you make it”: When you sing, just pretend and feel like you are a good singer.  This alone, will in fact make you sing better (even if it’s just a little bit)
    • Don’t care how you sound.  The more you scrutinize your sound, the less likely you are to make “mistakes” while exploring your range and developing your vocals and style.  Instead take mental note of what you did, how you felt, what you were thinking of, and how your instrument (your body) was working whenever you produce a sound that you like.  Continue developing that.
  4. Imagery
    • Take some time, close your eyes and use ALL your senses to imaging you singing well in the environment of your choice.  Embody this story for a while.
  5. One Simple technical exercise that can help with breath control, sustaining notes, ear training/pitch, and tone is as follows:
    1. Go to a piano/keyboard and press a key
    2. Position yourself with good posture and take a deep “belly breath” in
    3. Exhale while trying to match the pitch of the pressed key with  control in the speed of the breath/exhale
    4. Produce that sound/sing on that pitch for as long as you can
    5. Do this moving up by step/one key at a time (semitone) Note:  Try and start as low as you can on the keyboard, then work your way up to as high as you can.  This helps in extending your range.

When you can explore, become comfortable AND skilled with you voice, you can translate these skills to other areas of your life like:

  • Communication
  • Confidence
  • Clarity


Now that you are improving vocally…

  1. Select a song that you love that relates to an area of your life that is important to you or a topic that you need to communicate on
  2. See if you can find the words and lyrics of that song (Google it)
  3. Play the recording of the song while you sing along
    • First time –  sing however you like
    • Second time – sing  as if you are very emotional/crying
    • Third time – sing as if you are trying to control yourself from laughing
    • Fourth time – sing while dancing/freely moving to the music
    • Fifth time – sing as close to the way the artist is singing it
    • Sixth time – sing with a “chest voice” or with a heavy sound; sing from the belly and BELT IT OUT
    • Seventh time – sing with a “head voice”,  “falsetto”, or with light, breathy/airy vocals

*OPTIONAL EXERCISE (fortifies the process and desired outcome even more)

  • Re write the song as you own by substituting lyrics and phrases with your own words
  • Sing the new version of the song with your lyrics

After completing all the steps you will be feeling

  • Free
  • Energized
  • Clear headed with a natural high
  • Able to articulate your truth regarding the subject with CONFIDENCE!

Give it a try.  You have nothing to lose.  You may have to invest around an hour of your time.  If you can’t invest in yourself, then no one will want to invest in you.

Are You Performing These Important Self-Care Practices?

What have you been doing to LOVE YOURSELF?…

Self-care habits are among the most important. They show the world that you care about yourself. More importantly, they show you that you care about yourself.

It’s important to take care of yourself. No one is more interested in your care than you are. Maybe your mother cares more, but she’s not available 24/7 like you are.

Too many of us are too focused on helping others and not focused enough on our own care. You can’t do much for others if you’re not taking good care of yourself. Make yourself a priority, and you’ll be more useful to those in your life.

Care for yourself physically, emotionally, and mentally with these activities:

Grooming. This can be a good gauge of your mental health. Those with significant mental health issues often neglect their grooming. It’s important to look and feel your best each day. It’s amazing how much a good shower, shave, and flossing can do for your mood and attitude.

Healthy diet. It’s hard to rise above the quality of food you put into your body.

  • Even with conflicting diets and advice out there, you have a good idea of what foods are healthy and which aren’t. Experiment with different diets and take note of their effects on your mood, sleep, energy, and focus.

Exercise. Exercise has a positive effect on your mind and body. Exercise enhances your ability to sleep, uplifts your mood, and can increase your longevity. The current recommendation from the medical community is to engage in at least 2.5 hours of exercise per week.

Practice gratitude. Gratitude is good for your soul. It creates hope and contentment even in trying circumstances. It’s easy to forget how much you already have if you’re not practicing gratitude each day.

Practice forgiveness. Forgiving others has a powerful effect on your physical and emotional health. It also frees your mind from negative recurring thoughts and allows you to make more progress in your life. You’re only stealing time from yourself when you hold on to negative feelings toward others.

Sleep. Set up a regular schedule for sleeping and stick to it. It’s not too hard to convince yourself of the importance of sleep. All you have to do is skip one night to experience the powerful impact of sleep on your well-being.

Spend time with others. You can’t spend all of your time alone and remain emotionally healthy. It’s necessary to interact with others. How much human contact is needed varies greatly from one person to another. No matter how much of a loner you might be, though, spending time with others matters.

Spend quality time alone.Spending time with others is important, but it’s important to spend some time alone, too. Everyone needs to get away and be alone once in a while. Again, how much time you need to spend alone is an individual preference. Make time for this important self-care practice.

Have you ever noticed that your self-care suffers when you’re down in the dumps?

The quality of your self-care is a great barometer of your overall well-being.

Achieve Your Goals Faster and Easier with an Effective Vision Board

You’ve probably heard of vision boards, but you’ve probably never made or used one. A vision board is essentially a large poster that you construct to help you achieve your goals. It contains pictures that represent your goals.

For example, if you dream of climbing Mount Everest, you might include photos of the mountain, your hiking boots, Sherpa, and famous mountain climbers.

It might sound like silly new-age nonsense, but a vision board can be useful!

Consider what a vision board does for you:

  • It forces you to decide on your goals.
  • It requires you to review your goals daily.
  • It sensitizes you to opportunities that aid in the achievement of your goals.

However, it does not magically make the objects of your desire appear in your life without any work on your part. You’ll still have to work, but a vision board can be invaluable.

Use these strategies to create and use an effective vision board:

  1. Decide what you want to be, do, and have. This is one of the primary reasons that vision boards can be so effective. They require you to think about what you want and to make a few choices.

    • You might need to spend a day or two working on this. Think about what you want for your life. Remember that you can’t have everything, so think carefully and choose the things and experiences that are most important to you.

    • Be bold. If your vision board doesn’t inspire you, it won’t be effective.

  2. Find visual images that represent what you want to be, do, and have. You can look online or in magazines. What’s important is that you have the same feeling when you look at the photo as you do when you think about that thing. The sensations should match.

  3. Arrange your vision board in a way that pleases you. You can be orderly or use more of a collage style. Each objective can have its own board, or everything can be combined on a single board. There are no rules. Follow your instincts and allow your creativity to flow.
  4. Hang your vision board where you’ll see it frequently. A vision board sitting in the closet isn’t of much use. Consider your daily activities and put your vision board where you’ll see it most frequently.

  5. Take a photo of your vision board. Use your phone and take a photo. That way, you’ll have it wherever you go. You can always pull out your phone and view your board.

  6. Start and end your day with your vision board. At the very least, take a long look at your vision board when you first wake up and when you go to bed. You might need to rely on a photo if your vision board isn’t in your home.

  7. Use a process to view your vision board. Think about each goal you have and look at the photos that represent those goals. Allow yourself to feel excited about achieving that goal. Feel yourself on top of the mountain, losing 50 pounds, or driving that BMW.

    • Go through each item on your vision board and experience success in your mind.

  8. Be persistent. Vision boards don’t work overnight, but they do work. They remind you of your goals and keep them at the forefront of your mind. They allow you to experience positive feelings with regards to achieving your goals. Keep at it.

  9. Take action. Avoid the belief that your dream car will suddenly appear in your garage one morning. You still have the responsibility to take action. Using your vision board will allow you to notice more opportunities. Take advantage of them.

Start your first vision board today and use it daily. There’s nothing to lose. Making a vision board can be fun. If you have any children in your life, they’d love to help! A vision board can be more powerful than you think.

12 Signs That You’re Doing Better Than You Think

It’s not unusual for a person to think they’re doing worse than they actually are. Some of us are just pessimistic. Progress can also be hard to see sometimes unless you’re looking in the right places for it.

If you feel like you’re working hard with little to show for it, you’re probably mistaken. It’s likely that you’re doing a lot better than you think!

Consider these positive signs:

  1. You learn the lesson that each mistake and failure provide. If you can learn something from every failure and mistake, it won’t take long before you’re incredibly successful.

    • Most people repeat their errors over and over, whether it’s overspending or choosing a partner. People have a strong tendency to repeat their behaviors. But you can choose to act differently than you did the last time you were in a similar situation!

  2. You’re clear on what you want. This can be half the battle. You have a huge advantage over the competition if you know what you want. Most people are aimlessly floating through life.

  3. You spend your time wisely. Spend your time well and good things happen. Spend your time poorly and your life will be a train wreck.

    • When deciding what you’re going to do next, ask yourself what the best use of your time would be. Then, do it.

  4. You’re making regular progress. Consistent progress is a great sign. Even if you feel like you’re lightyears from your goal, all you need is regular progress. Many people have been dieting for years and haven’t lost a single pound. Even a pound of weight loss each month is meaningful over a period of time.

  5. You’re consistent in your efforts. Successful people put in some work on a daily basis. Success isn’t about working really hard for a day here and there.

    • Being consistent in your efforts also means that you’re sticking to your goals. Working for a week on one goal and then changing your mind and working on something else is a path to nowhere.

  6. You’re not alone. There are people that are alone in the world. If you’re not alone, you’re doing better than many others.

  7. You’re optimistic. When you’re optimistic, there’s hope. When you’re optimistic, you’ll take action.

    • Conversely, when your expectations are low, you quickly become stuck, because you believe your efforts will be a waste of time.

  8. You’re determined. Commitment is a great sign that you’re going places. Good things happen when you’re determined.

  9. You’re not worried about the opinions of others. If you care too much about what others think, you’ll prefer to play it safe, and you won’t do anything significant. You can leave them and their opinions in the dust behind you!

  10. You have a dry, warm place to sleep. If you’ve ever had to go without this, you know how nice this is. If you don’t have to deal with this situation, then you’re doing better than you think.

  11. You have a job. A steady income is a great thing. Many people either can’t find work or are unable to maintain employment. Even if you’re earning less than you’d like, it’s a lot better than earning nothing at all.

  12. You’re healthy. If you’re basically healthy, you have a huge leg up on a lot of people. Good health is a huge blessing.

Our society is easy in many ways and quite challenging in others. A high priority is placed on success, but there are other things that are also important. Friends, a warm bed, and a job are pretty relevant, too.

If you’re clear on what you’re trying to accomplish, and you’re spending your time wisely, you’re doing quite well. This is true even if the results haven’t revealed themselves yet. Have faith!

Making Peace with Your Inner Critic

The way you talk to yourself can build you up or tear you down. When your inner dialogue is harsh, it’s usually because you’re repeating things you heard from your parents or other authority figures when you were growing up.

If the criticism goes too far, it can discourage you from trying and take the joy out of your life.

Break free from the voices in your head. Take a look at a variety of techniques that prove that there’s more than one way to make peace with your inner critic.

Making Friends with Your Inner Critic

Your inner critic will sound less scary if you remember that it wants to protect you from failure and other possible dangers.

Learn how to put it to work for you instead of against you:

  1. Increase awareness. You may be so used to your inner critic that you hardly think about what it’s saying. Start changing your relationship by trying to understand what it wants to tell you.

  2. Look back. What’s your first memory of your inner critic? Does it sound like a particular person from your past? There may be family issues or other matters that you need to heal before you can move on.

  3. Focus on growth. Maybe your inner voice says you’re bad at math because you failed a test in the third grade. In reality, you’re not stuck in your past. Adopt a growth mindset that enables you to become whatever you want as long as you’re willing to put in the work to get there.

  4. Aim higher. You may also find your inner critic easier to deal with if you keep a deeper purpose in mind. When you’re working for something bigger than yourself, you can accept your self-doubts without being overcome by them.

  5. Try meditation. Many adults find that meditation helps them to make their self-talk more comforting and motivating. Let go of judgements and connect with your inner goodness.


Silencing Your Inner Critic

On the other hand, there are times when you just need a break. If your self-talk is making you anxious and depressed, you can find relief.

  1. Seek distractions. Shift your attention elsewhere. Take a walk or read a book. Spend some time doing anything that you enjoy.

  2. Distance yourself. Turn down the volume by imagining that your inner critic is speaking to someone else instead of you. Take any statement and replace the personal pronouns with a funny name.

  3. Identify triggers. Give yourself advance warning. Figure out the situations where your inner critic is likely to appear. You may be sensitive about first dates or criticism from your boss.

  4. List your strengths. If you’re tired of hearing about your weaknesses, remember your strengths. Make a list of the things you’re good at from baking bread to writing code.

  5. Correct exaggerations. Your house won’t be condemned because you were too busy to vacuum for a few days. Keep things in perspective by ensuring that your self-talk is accurate.

  6. Use affirmations. Repeating positive affirmations can give you a boost when you’re feeling down. Browse online for ideas or invent your own wording.

  7. Remember your worth. Being tough on yourself erodes your self-esteem. Shore it back up by telling yourself that you deserve to be happy and successful.

  8. Build support. While you need to value yourself, it helps to have others in your corner too. Surround yourself with family and friends who make you feel positive about yourself and your opportunities.

Take control of your self-talk and your future. Treat yourself with compassion and keep striving to reach your full potential.

Walk proud, talk proud, and love your life and life will in turn love you!

A 7-Step Process to Overcome Fear and Self-Doubt

Fear and self-doubt are two things that every normal person faces. These are also two of the biggest obstacles to success and happiness.

Some people feel more fear and self-doubt than others. And, some are better at overcoming these emotions than others.

Regardless of where you fall on the fear/self-doubt spectrum, there are many things you can do to rise above these emotions.

Conquer your fear and self-doubt with this process:

  1. Identify what you’re actually afraid of. What do you really fear? Most of us don’t have to worry about being eaten by tigers. Our lives are rarely in danger. The most common fears in a modern society are failure and making a fool out of one’s self. Of course, there are others.
    • If you want to start a business, but can’t seem to get started, what is your real concern?
    • Maybe you want to ask out a coworker on a date. What is the real fear? They certainly aren’t going to hit you over the head with a rock.
    • Be aware of your actual fear, and then you’ll have a chance of addressing it.
  2. Find situations related to your fear that are only mildly uncomfortable. Perhaps you have a fear of public speaking. What could you do that’s similar, but less terrifying? You could:
    • Give a speech to a group of friends
    • Start conversations with strangers
    • Visualize yourself giving a speech
    • Do more group activities and speak up more
    • If you’re afraid of heights, you could start by looking down over a 2nd floor balcony and slowly work your way up to greater heights.
  3. Take action. Thinking creates and magnifies fear. Taking action lessens fear. One of the best ways to get over fear is to immediately take action before you have a chance to talk yourself out of it.
    • Most people would be more successful, happier, and less afraid if they thought less and did more.
  4. Visualize yourself being unafraid. Imagine you have a twin that’s similar to you, but different in other ways. If you could build the perfect twin, what would they be like? What skills, beliefs, and attitudes would they have? How would they handle the situation that creates fear in you?
    • Allow yourself to become that twin.
  5. Give yourself small successes. Set yourself up to win. Make the game so easy that you can’t fail. As you gain confidence, up the stakes a little. Get used to being successful in the situations that cause you to feel fear.
    • If the thought of making 100 cold calls a day makes you break out in a cold sweat, give yourself the goal of making just one cold call. The next day, you can do three.
    • Show yourself that you can do it. Show yourself that nothing bad is going to happen to you.
  6. Be realistic. What is the worst consequence you are likely to endure if the thing you fear comes true? It’s probably not anything you can’t handle!
    • What happens if the publisher rejects your book? What if your speech doesn’t go well? What’s actually going to happen to you? Will you still be safe? Will your family still love you?
  7. Get help. Whether you need some help from a friend or a professional, there’s no shame in getting help. You would get help if your car’s engine blew up. You’d get help if you had a broken leg. Get the help you need to deal with your fears.

How much do you allow fear and self-doubt to rule your life? Imagine what your life would be like if you could overcome all of your fears and self-doubt.

Most people avoid the actions that trigger these uncomfortable feelings. You can do better. You can act in the face of these emotions and live your life to the fullest.

How Do You Sabotage Your Success?

Everyone has had the experience of self-destructing. It’s a strange feeling to know that you ruined the very thing you were trying so hard to accomplish. Most self-sabotage is the result of discomfort. It can be the discomfort of failing, succeeding, or having to perform tasks that are uncomfortable.

You may have heard the saying, “Get comfortable with being uncomfortable.” Unfortunately, most of us are well-practiced in the art of avoiding discomfort. This is the most common way we sabotage our success.

Are you sabotaging your success? Consider these points:

  1. Distractions. The tasks that need to be done in order to be successful are typically less appealing than watching TV, surfing the internet, or spending time with friends. We’re experts at distracting ourselves, and the urge to seek out distractions increases with the unpleasantness of the task.
    • Solution: Allow yourself to have distractions, but control when, and how long, you engage in them. You might give yourself 30 minutes of distraction time after three hours of work. Or, you might limit distractions to the evening after your work is done for the day.
  2. Procrastination. Distractions are one way of procrastinating, but there are countless ways to procrastinate. The general theme is that you’re doing something other than what you should be doing.
    • Solution: Be clear on what needs to be done and why.
    • Focus on just getting started, which is often the most challenging part of working.
    • Use a timer and see how much you can accomplish in 30 minutes.
  3. Indecisiveness. Indecisiveness is a success killer. When you can’t make up your mind, progress comes to a stop. If you wait until you have all the wisdom and information necessary to make the perfect choice, you’ll be waiting a long time. You have to pull the trigger and move forward.
    • Solution: Be clear on what needs to be done to accomplish your objective.
    • Give yourself a time limit. You might give yourself 10 minutes or a day to make a decision. Then just decide and do your best.
  4. Negative thoughts. For many people, the closer they get to success, the more negative thoughts they experience.
    • Solution: Take control of your mind and think thoughts that are useful to you. Cheer yourself on rather than criticize your actions.
    • Ignore the random noise of your mind. You don’t have to engage with your random thoughts. You can choose to ignore them.
  5. Focus on low-priority tasks. We like to work on our projects but avoid the most important tasks. The most important tasks are often the least enjoyable, so we avoid them. We tackle the less important tasks because it allows us to feel like we’re still making progress.
    • Solution: Have a list of tasks to do each day ordered from most important to least. Start at the top of your list and work your way down.
  6. Quitting. This is the ultimate way to sabotage your success. You can’t achieve anything if you quit before you’re successful. Many people have a habit of quitting right before achieving success.
    • Solution: Develop the habit of finishing what you start. Avoid caving into the fear that crops up when you’re about to find out if you were successful or not. Remember that you can always try again, regardless of the outcome.

Self-sabotage is a great problem to have because you don’t need to try to change anyone else. In fact, the entire issue is your responsibility! This might sound disheartening, but it’s easier to change yourself than it is to change someone else.

The person responsible for your successes and failures is staring at you in the mirror each day.

Keep these tips in mind as you go through your day and soon, you’ll find yourself enjoying your successes instead of bemoaning your failures!

How Positive Delusions Can Help You to Reach Your Goals

A positive delusion could be viewed as merely a very positive attitude. Now, you might think that’s just being inaccurate and lying to yourself. You might be right, but the science is clear on this matter.

Studies have shown that people who overestimate their skills, abilities, and talents for a new endeavor ultimately perform at a higher level than those that are more realistic or pessimistic about succeeding at that endeavor.

Those that overestimate their abilities learn skills better and are more successful. This isn’t too surprising. If you don’t think you’re good at something and that you can’t learn to do it well, you’re going to be less motivated and engaged in learning that activity.

Conversely, if you expect the best, you’re going to jump in and get busy mastering that new skill. With high expectations – even unjustly high expectations – you’re greatly enhancing your odds of success.

Use these tips to use positive delusions for your benefit:

  1. Positive delusions give hope. When you tell yourself, “Things will improve if I just hang in there,” you give yourself the hope you require to keep trying and to persevere. It’s always possible that things won’t improve, but if you believe they will, you give yourself a much better chance of success.

    • Think about what you would do instead if you were very pessimistic. You’d be without hope. Do you think that would make you more likely to succeed or less likely?

  1. Assuming the best can allow you to take action. When you have high expectations, you put yourself in the position to take action. Whether you’re interested in learning to play the banjo or talking to an attractive stranger, you can move forward if you believe that something positive will happen.

    • If you had low expectations, would you be willing to take action?
  1. Keep in mind that most of your beliefs are at least partially delusional. Your knowledge and interpretations of your past experiences are far from perfect. There’s little that you believe to be true that’s actually true. We’re all operating under various delusions.

  2. Limit your negative self-talk. Negativity kills. It kills your spirit, motivation, and future. Put a damper on negative self-talk before it has a chance to gain momentum. Once it begins, immediately turn your attention to something else.

  3. Think about the kind of person you want to become. Consider the goals you have in your life and think about what type of person you need to be in order to attain those goals. What qualities and characteristics do you need to possess? See yourself as already having those qualities.

  4. Visualize success. One of the easiest ways to create a positive delusion is to visualize yourself succeeding. Imagine overcoming every possible obstacle. Imagine yourself confidently achieving success. This is one of the best ways to use positive delusions to your advantage.

  5. Believe that having positive delusions is in your best interest. Remind yourself that being practical and realistic can be very limiting. Being optimistic and overestimating your abilities can be very effective in the long term.

There’s a time to be practical and realistic. But that time might not be as often as you think.

Overestimating your abilities and the likelihood of your success can be a powerful way to improve your results. Give yourself the benefit of the doubt on a regular basis and see how it affects your life. You can always go back to more pessimistic ways if you want.

There’s a saying that goes Reach for the stars and you’ll hit the sky. I say “reach into the Universe and you’ll certainly hit the stars”.

Choose what works rather than what makes sense. Perform an optimism experiment on yourself and review the results.

Are you a napper? It seems like one group of people believe naps are a gift from the heavens. Others believe that naps are a waste of time and only lead to feeling worse than you did before lying down for a quick snooze.

Are naps a good idea? Fortunately, science has a lot to say on the subject. Napping can be a great addition to your life if you have the time.

See how napping can be a useful daily habit:

  1. Napping is good for your memory. Numerous studies have shown that napping can boost your memory. Naps can be a great way for students to increase their recall.

  2. A nap makes you more alert. Studies done by NASA demonstrated that a 40-minute nap improved alertness by 100%. Other studies show similar results. If alertness is your goal, experiment with different durations. Many people find that a shorter nap is better if they’re looking for a quick boost.

  3. Longer naps boost creativity and skill learning. Long naps, those lasting 90 minutes or longer, can be very effective when it comes to learning new skills. This is especially true if the naps occur shortly after practicing the skill.

  4. Naps can leave you temporarily more tired. The groggy aftermath of a nap is referred to as sleep inertia. Fortunately, this only lasts 5-30 minutes. The longer the nap, the more likely you are to suffer from sleep inertia.

  5. Napping too long can affect your sleep at night. This is also true of a short nap if it’s too late in the day.

  6. Napping has a lot of additional benefits. It’s great for enhancing your mood, reducing the risk of heart attack, aiding weight loss, reducing stress, enhancing motor skills, and improving the accuracy of your work!

It’s easy to see that a regular nap is great for you if you’re able to accommodate the time in your schedule. In many cultures, everything shuts down in the afternoon so everyone can relax and enjoy a nap.

Napping tips:

  1. Find the right duration. Some people love to nap for 5-10 minutes and get great results. Others like to nap longer. The only way to find the best duration for you is to experiment.

  2. Choose the best time for your nap. Most people naturally feel sleepy in the afternoon. This is also the ideal time for most people to take a nap.

    • This is very dependent on your lifestyle. For example, if you work late, but have to get up early to get your kids off to school, the best time to nap might be when the school bus pulls away from your house.

  1. The darker and quieter, the better. The best sleeping conditions at night are the best conditions for a nap. This can be challenging but do the best you can.

  2. Be consistent. It’s fine to only nap as needed. However, if you’re going to nap regularly, a consistent schedule is important. If you become accustomed to napping every day at 2:00PM, you’re going to be miserable if you can’t take your nap when 2:00PM rolls around.

It’s not easy for many people to find the time to nap. Most employers aren’t too keen on the idea of napping at work. However, if you have a lunch break that allows you to leave your worksite, you can catch a quick nap in your car. Just remember to use an alarm!

Many people believe that naps are fine for children and the elderly, but naps are actually good for everyone. Take the time to enjoy a quick nap each day. It can change your life.

Personally, I don’t like naps.  I like when I’m done for the day I go to sleep.  My problem is that when I’m ready to sleep my mind often races.  This is when I implement my various meditation methods, or listen to a hypnosis recording. 

I know I interact better at work and with loved ones when I feel well rested.  I am increasingly more efficient and motivated when I am well rested.
